German Chamomile essential oil has a royal blue color and a sweet, calming, floral aroma. German Chamomile has an exhaustive amount of literature recommending it for hundreds of uses, but it is best known for promoting a healthy emotional state, relaxation, sleep, normal digestion, muscles, joints and skin. Historically Chamomile has been used by humans for over 3,000 years and has played an essential part in the pharmacopeias of the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Throughout European history chamomile has been planted as ground cover at churches and monasteries for its revered calming effects.

 

HOW TO USE

Common Uses: Traditionally Chamomile has been used to make herbal teas, compresses and salves which have been used to maintain and promote healthy digestion, relaxation and sleep. Aromatherapists often add Chamomile essential oil to salves, massage oils, and calming blends.

Safety Information: German Chamomile is non toxic and safe for use with all ages. This essential oil is so gentle that adults can use it straight on the skin without much concern of irritation, however it is best used diluted for the greatest results and experience. For children under 13 use a 5% dilution or less. For infants and toddlers use a 1% dilution (less than 6 drops per ounce of carrier); ideally it would be diffused, however for skin irritation topical application is helpful. Some may have an allergy to Chamomile if they are allergic to ragweed.
